Our Story

A family kitchen bringing Indian, Hakka Chinese and Nepali food to London, Ontario.

Aroma of India started with a simple idea: cook the way we cook at home, and share it with the city we now call home too.

How It Started

From a family spice book to a table in London, Ontario.

Aroma of India began with a grandmother's handwritten spice book and a copper karahi that's older than most of the staff working here today. Every recipe we serve traces back to a home kitchen, not a cookbook.

Over time, our menu grew to include Hakka Chinese and Nepali dishes too, cuisines that share a love of bold flavour and slow cooking, even if they come from different corners of the map. That's why you'll find butter chicken, chilli chicken, and momos on the same menu here.

Today we cook all of it fresh, every day, right here at 590 Dundas Street. Everything is Halal certified, and every dish is made to order, not sitting under a heat lamp waiting for you.

What We Cook

Three cuisines that don't usually share a menu.

Most restaurants pick one cuisine and stick to it. We grew up eating all three, so that's how we serve them.

Indian

Curries, Tandoori and Biryani

Slow cooked curries, tandoori meats marinated overnight, and biryani layered and steamed the traditional dum way. This is where it all started for us.

Hakka Chinese

Wok Fired and Bold

Indo Chinese cooking with Indian spice, chilli chicken, Manchurian, and Hakka noodles that hit different from regular Chinese food.

Nepali

Momos, Hand Folded Daily

Steamed, fried, tandoori, or malai style, our momos are folded by hand every single day, never frozen, never premade.

What We Believe In

The things we won't compromise on.

100 Percent Halal

Every meat dish we serve is Halal certified, no exceptions, whether you're dining in or ordering catering.

Fresh Over Fast

We'd rather take the extra ten minutes to cook it right than rush something out that isn't as good as it should be.

Every Guest Welcomed

Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, or none of the above, everyone gets a seat and something good to eat here.

Rooted in London, Ontario

This isn't a chain. We're a family run restaurant that's part of this community, not just doing business in it.

Local Ingredients First

We buy from London area growers and butchers whenever we can, and prep everything fresh each morning.

Honest Food, Honest Prices

No shortcuts, no fillers, just real ingredients cooked properly and priced fairly.
